AFIELD Grants are developed in collaboration with partnering organizations to support artist-led initiatives. Some grants will target topics and thematic issues, others will focus on fields of practice or geographic zones.

AFIELD supports initiatives by artists and cultural workers that respond to, further, and contribute to the processes and mechanisms of transitional justice in diverse global contexts.

We are currently running an open call for the Transitional Justice with Artists Grant and Fellowship, distributing €10,000 to six initiatives throughout 2026 and 2027.

In its 2024 cycle, the AFIELD Transitional Justice Grant awarded US$10,000 to four initiatives led by artists and cultural workers addressing the legacies of conflict and systemic injustice.

The Art Space Grant is a collaboration between KADIST and AFIELD.

Around the world, vital art spaces are founded by artists and collectives. Especially in regions where institutional funding is scarce, artists often lead the way in finding creative means to support the arts.

Each year, a total of US$40,000 was awarded to initiatives recognized for their artistic excellence and their commitment to advancing progressive ideas that tackle critical issues of our time.
