Yin Aiwen is an artist, designer, researcher, and occasional institutional strategist. Departing from the idea that “the technological is institutional, the institutional is technological”, Yin reconsiders and reimagines the socio-economic, cultural, emotional, and bodily conditions, etc. by designing the new techno-institutional around care ethics.

Yin initiates and designs ReUnion Network, a welfare system long-term mutual-aid networks and family of choice since 2017. With Yiren Zhao and Zoe Zhao, she co-created Liquid Dependencies, a multiplayer role-playing game that serves as an experiential simulation of ReUnion Network and a peer-to-peer education that brings the knowledge of mutual aid and care from the game to the real-life experience. Together with Binna Choi, Yin co-initiates Commons · Art, an initiative to create a horizontal, care-based funding platform for socially-engaged art with decentralized ledger technology.
