Gisela Casimiro (Guinea-Bissau) is a writer, artist, performer and activist, currently residing and working in Lisbon, Portugal.
Established in 2004, Associação Cavaleiros de São Brás is a collaborative project fighting to keep children and teenagers off the streets and in school via an after-school project called Boba Educa. The association promotes cultural events, along with sports, vacations and celebrations for families of mostly African heritage. The aim is to build a mindful, accessible and inclusive library and reading and writing habits in families to increase literacy and empowerment against poverty, racism and social class prejudice.
