Ana Campillos Sanchez-Camacho
LOCUS✳
Madrid, Spain · Cultural Management
Ana Campillos believes in design as a relational tool, in eclecticism as a universal language. Class consciousness, immaterial culture and mental health are at the core of her creative conceptions. She explores them through collaborative projects like Twindr, Galaxxia, and Locus* – receiving the support of Medialab Prado, ”la Caixa” Foundation, the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the Madrid City Council or the Carasso Foundation.
She is the co-founder of NADA, a cultural collective that explores the right to the city and the care through performative design. She is also studying a Master’s degree in International Arts Management and Social Innovation, where she hopes to formalise, nurture and internationalise both her work experiences and her abstract thinking.
LOCUS✳ is a project of a plural and experimental nature that claims mental health from an anti-psychiatric and community perspective, and that explores creativity from cultural margins. The integrity of the project is built on the resignification of the concept of «place of safety».
Its main objective is to motivate artistic creation as a quotidian self-management tool for mental health and to activate a community based on mutual support. Located in the working-class neighborhood of Vallecas, LOCUS✳ has become a factor in the development of the local cultural fabric.
