Joining AFIELD in 2026, Genista is a cultural producer from Aotearoa New Zealand, based in Lisbon, who uses digital production and strategic storytelling to champion creative practitioners and gather communities.

Until recently, she spent seven years leading global communications for Contemporary HUM, a digital platform that documented, advocated for, and developed international opportunities for visual artists from Aotearoa.

With a background in advertising, film, and media, Genista collaborates with platforms like Friends in the Arts, Rural Radicals, The Big Idea, and Ocula to amplify artistic practices and projects. In 2025, she co-created the Cross Street Studios Index, a digital archive preserving the history of an experimental artist-run initiative she co-founded in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
