We are pleased to announce the two awardees of our 2024 Art Space Grant, a collaboration between KADIST and AFIELD: Cemeti Institute for Art and Society (Indonesia) & Anga Art Collective (India).
In 2024, a total of $40,000 in grants are awarded to initiatives recognized for their artistic excellence and their commitment to advancing progressive ideas that tackle critical issues of our time.
Cemeti Institute for Art and Society
Cemeti Institute for Art and Society, Indonesia’s pioneering platform for contemporary art, known for its dynamic engagement with artists, curators, and local communities. Cemeti fosters socially and politically engaged practices through long-term research projects, exhibitions, workshops, and residencies in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Anga Art Collective
Anga Art Collective is an Assam-based collective dedicated to the enrichment of the dialogue between artists and local residents through critical, visual and material experiments, and artist-led pedagogical explorations based on the geographical and social landscape of the region of North Eastern India.
In 2024, the Art Space Grant awarded special recognition to two remarkable initiatives: The Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA) and Belleza y Felicidad.
The Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA)
The Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA) is a dynamic cultural space dedicated to decentralizing art, fostering inclusivity, and empowering local artists to redefine the narrative of contemporary African art in Tamale, Ghana.
Belleza y Felicidad
Belleza y Felicidad is cultural activism project that uses art as a tool for social transformation, providing educational and creative resources to the local community while breaking down social barriers in Fiorito, Argentina.
